My Background
I've been on this journey long enough to separate the wheat from the chaff.
Decades of side hustles. Houses flipped. Storage units emptied. An MLM that ended in betrayal. A woodworking funnel. High-volume content experiments that went nowhere. I even tried to start an online business in 1996 — before the technology existed to make it work.
I wasn't lazy. I wasn't lacking commitment. I was just missing the one thing that changes everything.
At 61, with 36 years in Aerospace behind me, I realized I'd been capping my own potential — trading time for a paycheck, following a path someone else built, and quietly wondering if there was another way.
There was. But finding it cost me years I didn't need to lose.
Here's what I know now that I didn't know then:
The long way is the shortest path.
You still have to put in the work. You still have to be patient. You still have to defer the reward. None of that changes.
But which path you walk — that part doesn't have to be a guess.
I've been through enough wrong turns to know which potholes are worth fixing and which ones to drive around entirely.
I've done the filtering so you don't have to start from zero. And I've learned that no amount of hustle replaces having someone ahead of you on the road saying "not that way — this way."
That's why I believe mentorship is the single most important leverage point in building a business. Not a course. Not a tool. Not another strategy. A guide who's already been through the valley you're standing in.
